Young Naval Officers Network (YONON)
The main aim of the German security and defence policy is to strengthen and to extend the stability of the Euro-Atlantic region in order to contribute to a permanent peace and stability in and for Europe.
The secruity enviroment
In order to achieve these aims there are two important prerequisites necessary:
- multinationality and
- integration.
The Project YONON
YONON is the parent organization for the international cooperation between naval officers and midshipmen.
YONON consists of the following four elements:
- Joint Events and programmes in foreign countries. They serve as basis for making personal contacts among the participants. They are also a platform for the participants‘ interest in exchanging opinions and views.
- A platform for data and information. In order to secure topicality and also the participants‘ interests general information such as addresses, lists of crews, organization plans and a dictionary have to be at disposal. Furthermore, reports and picture material of experiences can be displayed. Programmes of visits and events, lists of participants, reports, and résumés complete the information platform.
- Joint training programmes will be the basis for a productive and profitable cooperation in the multinational surroundings. During the contact phases and the training the participants will discuss further subjects in detail.
- Exchange of views/opinions. Finally the midshipmen and officers of various countries can exchange views and opinions in the forum for discussion and in the mailing-list.
The future
From the year 2002 on YONONwill gradually be built up. Therefore the forum for discussion and the mailing-list will be installed at first. The other parts will follow little by little. Due to the contributions of naval officers and midshipmen a tie will be created which will connect in common future tasks.
YONON is a project of naval officers and midshipmen of many countries for other officers and midshipmen.
It lives on your contribution!
